Oasis Optometry in Chino, CA offers Essilor® Stellest®, an FDA-authorized prescription lens designed to correct myopia (with or without astigmatism) and help slow myopia progression in eligible children.
Clear center zone helps your child see clearly, like standard prescription glasses.
Around the center are concentric rings of tiny, nearly invisible treatment zones designed with Essilor’s proprietary H.A.L.T. Technology. Each lens contains 1,021 of these micro-zones arranged in 11 rings. Together, they create a special focus pattern intended to help slow the eye’s growth in length, which is a key driver of myopia progression.
Plain-language summary: clear vision today + a built-in myopia-control design meant to help slow how fast the prescription changes.
Stellest® is FDA-authorized for children who, at the start of treatment, are:
Ages 6–12
Have myopia (with/without astigmatism) within specific prescription limits (we confirm this in-office)
Have non-diseased eyes
Feels like “normal glasses.” Designed to look and function like everyday eyewear.
Simple routine. Put them on in the morning and wear throughout the day—no contact lens handling.
Kid-friendly option. A glasses-based approach that many families find convenient.
We start with a focused evaluation to understand:
Your child’s current prescription and visual needs
How quickly the myopia is changing
Eye health and candidacy for myopia control options
Most myopia management plans include:
An early check after dispensing (to confirm fit/adaptation)
Ongoing monitoring approximately every 6 months, depending on your child’s needs and progression risk
We may recommend a different myopia-control approach if your child is outside the FDA-authorized starting criteria, outside the indicated prescription range, or has other eye health considerations.
The Stellest® lenses have been designed with a technology called H.A.L.T (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target) which creates multiple rings of defocusing throughout the lens. This sends a signal to slow eye elongation and myopia progression.
Depending on your vision insurance plan, there may be some coverage for the Stellest lens. Visit our office for more information for your individual plan.
An eye care practitioner will let you know if the Stellest® lens is right for your child if they are:
Starting to get myopia
Already myopic
Having progressing myopia
